FACE DIAGNOSIS
Your skin is your biggest and most visible organ. But it differs from many organs in one simple way: When it’s experiencing a problem, you sure as heck know about it.
This has led to a wide range of techniques designed to help keep your complexion as clear and healthy as can be. Face mapping is one of them. It stems from an ancient Chinese belief that a person’s skin is a reflection of their inner health.
In recent years, new face mapping techniques have been introduced. These tend to rely on dermatology, rather than traditional wisdom. But they’re still based on the idea that a blemish on your face is an indication of a deeper issue.
TONGUE DIAGNOSIS
Tongue diagnosis in Chinese Medicine is a method of diagnosing disease and disease patterns by visual inspection of the tongue and its various features. It is one of the major diagnostic methods in Chinese Medicine since the time of the Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic.
It is considered a part of the “Inspection” method within the four methods of diagnosis. The tongue provides important clues reflecting the conditions of the internal organs.
Like other diagnostic methods, tongue diagnosis is based on the “outer reflects the inner” principle of Chinese medicine, which is that external structures often reflect the conditions of the internal structures and can give us important indications of internal disharmony.
NAIL DIAGNOSIS
Healthy nails appear smooth and have consistent coloring. As you age, you may develop vertical ridges, or your nails may be a bit more brittle. This is harmless. Spots due to injury should grow out with the nail.
Abnormalities — such as spots, discoloration, and nail separation — can result from injuries to the fingers and hands, viral warts (periungual warts), infections (onychomycosis), and some medications, such as those used for chemotherapy.
Certain medical conditions can also change the appearance of your fingernails. However, these changes can be difficult to interpret. Your fingernails’ appearance alone isn’t enough to diagnose a specific illness. A doctor will use this information, along with your other symptoms and a physical exam, to make a diagnosis.
You should always consult your doctor if you have any questions about changes in your nails.
PULSE DIAGNOSIS
Pulse diagnosis is a diagnostic technique used in Ayurveda, traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Mongolian medicine, Siddha medicine, traditional Tibetan medicine, and Unani. Although it once showed many positive results, it no longer has scientific legitimacy, but research continues and is ill-defined in some derived text, and is subjective.
